This lady is the real deal! Jersey Joe received this email today:

"Hey check out this video.  It's a video message from Patty, a dog foster mom from Jersey who's a huge fan of your work. One of her dreams is getting you to remodel her trailer and get dogs painted on it. Check it out and if interested get in contact with her."

If Jersey ever grants the dog foster mom her wish we will definetly film it for you to see.

An exciting phone call came into the Saberone Studio. Ron English was coming to Los Angeles to do some guerrilla billboard work and wanted Saber to be involved.

Ron English is one of the most technically superior oil painters today. His distortion of pop culture gives us a clear vision of reality. He will always hold my respect for this and for the work he’s put in on the public level.

The billboard of choice is on the west side of La Cienega, just south of Airdrome in Mid City, a prime location. First Ron put up the bill, then Saber did his thing.

With the ladders, spray paint, rollers, wheat glue, etc., and it took a couple hours. They did it in the middle of the day, and somehow got away with it. And it looks great lit up at night.

LA Weekly has moved their offices to a new building on Sepulveda Blvd. in Culver City, and invited Saber to paint a large mural in the lobby.

I took this photo of downtown Los Angeles from the roof top of the famous Taft building on the corner on Hollywood and Vine. It came out a little blurry so I thought it was a perfect reference for an abstract painting of LA, and this was the perfect place to paint it.

At first Saber had some trouble with the stiff shirts not understanding his vision. “I felt I had to bring some raw elements into the mural, like the hand-style border, to balance out the new modern template that’s been imposed by the new owners from Phoenix”.

Predictably, after the completion of the piece everyone was pleased.
