Mr. Brainwash, or MBW, is the moniker of an eccentric French filmmaker. MBW has spent the last nine years attempting to make the ultimate documentary about graffiti art. But whilst filming many of the world’s most renowned street artists at work, MBW began putting his camera aside and making art of his own. He has graduated from a few hand-drawn stickers to giant billboard sized paste-ups.

MBW does not fit the stereotype of your average street vandal. His artistic process chiefly consists of throwing random modern cultural icons into a blender and turning it up to eleven. The results are by turns profound, provocative and inspirational.

“Life is beautiful” is the first exhibition ever mounted by Mr. Brainwash. It takes place in a former Hollywood studio complex and will feature over 200 paintings, sculptures and prints alongside an installation made from 25,000 books and a life-size re-creation of Edward Hopper’s “Nighthawks.” For more info go to www.artshow2008.com

yo C,
Although the art of gardening is usually enjoyed by the older generations of our societies, i thought as i was dropping a major dose of landscaping in my back yard it was time to bring it up to date.
To appeal to the younger would-be gardeners out there we gave it an X games twist. My son is pretty good but i am proud to say i was the first to dial in clean barrow kick flips in both directions.
Due to the fact that this fledgling sport/work is at the cutting edge of extreme gardening i thought i'd represent by decorating the barrows before the initial media storm will blow this shit wide open.
Please also bare in mind that i'm English and am quite possibly just taking the piss and was really just sending you some dumbass pictures..

BUILD AND DESTROY..

From headless Victorian inspired paintings to sculpted and cast resin
cameos, vases and jewelry, Amandalynn definitely moves ahead in a new
artistic direction with her upcoming show at the Carmichael Gallery
in Los Angeles, California. Though this is not her first solo show,
it is definitely the first of its kind. Amandalynn has the
opportunity to recreate the gallery scene entirely with her own
visual imagery and style. She is very fortunate to have Renee
Fontana, join her in creating a show that is not only new and
innovative, but also ‘fresh’. Renee will be adorning, framing,
accenting, and even designing live floral additions to the show.
Amanda and Renee have worked on several shows together in the past
and are both truly excited about this upcoming opportunity. They will
be taking the standard gallery setting and changing it into a
fanciful space, using both their unique and practiced artistic
senses.
Amandalynn works as a motorcycle and sculpture painter and
restorator. She takes her knowledge of this craft and applies it to
her own artwork, creating a new and interesting approach to painting
and sculpture for her show. When Amanda is not working, she spends
her evenings painting her fine art pieces, and on days off works at
displaying her images on murals, walls, and doorways around San
Francisco, CA.
Renee Fontana works in the world of furniture sales and display as
her day job, and applies this design experience when creating visual
artistic exhibits. Renee‘s true passion is floral design, creating
new and innovative looks to weddings, events, Interiors, and living
art displays as a freelance designer.
These two women are on the constant move to create a visually
stimulating space and time for spectators around the world, and are
more than honored to have this opportunity to move A head in their
artistic careers.
