This was painted as if it were a photo negative- whatever should be light was painted dark and vise versa. All those black marks on the face end up becoming highlights when you take a picture of the wall and invert all the colors. it then looks "normal". Painting like that is kind of a brain exercise.

This is some of the most innovative sh!t i've seen in the graffiti world in a long time! How could you hate on this idea! The only person to hate on this, is yourself...for not thinking it up and doing it first! So well done and creative!! Three thumbs up!! Oooops thats not my thumb!! Thanks for the mind bending!!

i think you need to do your research before bashing this piece. you can start by visiting his site "elmac.net", you'll see that there is more to this than simply inverting the piece in photoshop...

Get the image as big as you can on your monitor . . . stare at it for about 30 seconds without moving your eyes from your focus spot (like the nostril). Then shut your eyes tightly and wait. The image will invert automatically, and the green will turn to flesh tones in your shut eyes (similar to what's been done in pshop above).

Hum, from my point of view, Jeremy is not as naive as you think. I also had the idea that in order to make this drawing, maybe the artist took a printed inverted picture as a model (Jeremy said a guide). Then, no need for an Escher or Einstein brain : you just need to use the same colors you see on your printer inverted picture. Still, the idea and the effect are good.

Oh, Jeremy. You'll have an original idea one day. Promise. And when that day comes, we'll all applaud you. We won't write angry, little messages exposing our jealously. Here's to Jeremy!

The reason this is so awesome... Jeremy... is because it wasn't just turned into a negative it was PAINTED as a negative and if you take a picture of it and invert it... its beautiful. The shading is done wonderfully. It looks all creepy in the original but inverted it looks relatively normal. Except the color tint of course. (leave it to ignorant people to bash art).

You people are easily amazed. Photos are easily inverted. If you've ever used photo shop, this is easy for you. take any image and invert the colors. Then use this as a guide - paint using the inverse colors - and of course when inverted the image will appear to have color. This image is more like a sepia tone except in purple. Not very impressive, considering that using the correct tones would have produced a full color image when inverted. Whoopty-doo!
