Unfortunately for Ruets, he was the one stuck in the position of having to come AFTER Zes's 7th day, which, in its nature of being illegal, brought out the "illegal only" crowd. If Ruets had come before Zes, I think it would have been a much different story. But I agree with El Druc, if it werent for Ruets, I dont think there would be this variety of discussion going on. It would have been the same old "sweet dood" etc... etc... etc... opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, but unfortunately some smell like shit more than others.

Looking at all negative feedback that went down on here I can't help to think of this cultural barrier reinforced by "some" peoples hatred, egos, envy, or whatever the reason for all the shit talking--but when you break it down i think it comes down to that old tribal mentality. In reality this does nothing for the graffiti movement. This negativity only encourages people to see themselves as alienated spectators of this culture, rather than active participants in a revolution. it's a restricted vision that denies the imagination and retards progression. fight the subjugation that oppresses us!!! (ie: the system, gov/corp corruption, our minds) and not the other graff writer who is from another crew or who has a different style because ultimately we are all on the same boat, trying to accomplish the the same goal, but using a different approach. props to Ruets for his contribution and the seventh day project for making this exchange of opinions possible.

I might be wrong but I think most of you are taking these videos the wrong way. These guys arent painting for the videos, the videos are of the guys painting. They would be painting these pieces regardless of the cameras being there. Its a glimpse into whats being done, dont take it for more than that. Just enjoy, and shut the fuck up.

i think the whole point of the seventh day project was to create awareness of this developing act of live painting. this isn't some sort of battle of who's the best. i know that's what graff is and all, but it seems as though this project is trying to surpass this idea and come to a more mature state of thinking. i dont think tsl was putting out this video claiming ruets is king, but rather showing a different style and like i said before, just giving the other guy a chance to show his technique. tsl can choose to feature only the best of the best, but then i'm sure someone else would be complaining that they've already seen all the sabers, the retnas, and all the revoks'. i think it was a good call to feature ruets, if you understand the reason behind the style you wouldn't be criticizing the work like you are now. either way, it's all good. moving forward...
