No Age + Dj Alf Alpha + other musical guests to be announced

“The past decade and half of New Image Art has been a wild ride! It has been the greatest honor to be able to work with and know many of our artists and gallery supporters. All the unknowns, underdogs, avant-gurardians, newbies, bad-asses, and geniuses; all of them a part of the very fabric that makes up New Image Art.

The 15 year anniversary party will serve as a retrospective show – a show of shows if you will. Many of our artists over the past 15 years have been asked to contribute in memorializing this event by representing what it is they do best. We are striving to communicate the essence of New Image Art = ultimate creativity, this is everyone’s party!!

We will be showing videos and slide presentations and inviting our favorite past musical guests for live performances, dancing, and an all around good time.”

So lately we've been extremely busy to say the least. We started filming for both The Seventh Day Project and our documentary on Letters First. This week we sat down with Mr. Cartoon, Estevan Oriol, Trevelin, Saber, Risky, Pat Tenore, Conan Hayes, Alexis Ross, Aaron Rose, Ewok, Revok, Cake & Mars Volta and many others for intimate interviews on their perspectives  on The Seventh Letter and Letters First movement, as well as their views on many different things in life. On top of that we're filmed Revok, Risky, Rime, Sever, Ruets, Ewok and Dmote time doing time lapsed pieces from beginning to end for The Seventh Day Projects.

BEAUTIFUL LOSERS: THE MOVIE

In the 1990¹s, a loose knit group of young American artists, influenced by the underground subcultures of the day, such as Skateboarding, Graffiti, Punk, and Hip-Hop, began to make art that reflected the lifestyles they led.

Centered around a small storefront gallery in New York¹s Lower East Side, in the true spirit of the ³do-it-yourself² ethic, they nurtured their crafts through trial, error and innovation. Over the last ten years this group, and the subcultures they sprang from have become not only popular, but perhaps the leading cultural movement of this generation. Beautiful Losers tells some of their stories.

Featuring: Barry McGee, Mike Mills, Ed Templeton, Margaret Kilgallen, Chris Johanson, Stephen Powers (ESPO), Peggy Honeywell, Geoff McFetridge, Jo Jackson, Harmony Korine, Mark Gonzales, Shepard Fairey, Cheryl Dunn, Aaron Rose and an original score by Money Mark.

Running time: 85 Minutes

Yesterday I sent out a bulletin about how good I was feeling towards The Seventh Letter / Known Gallery and this Letters First Asia tour, I was feeling like I was at my highest point  and then the UPS man showed up with this package from my dear friend Barry McGee. 50 artists came through for this show like FUCKING CHAMPS!! I love my crews beyond my own imagination. Forever Pure®
