Giant Robot is proud to host a "Choegal" release party attended by artist David Choe.
Raised on comic books, affected by street art, and inspired by crime, women, and music, Choe has developed a unique and restless style that is effortless yet meticulous and focused yet dirty. Since the artist contributed his first illustration to Giant Robot magazine in 1997, he has exhibited in solo shows around the world (at all three Giant Robot galleries as well as in Paris, Tokyo, and London) and also been featured on VBS-TV's popular Thumbs Up! series. Choegal is his first wood figure: extremely detailed, totally hand painted, and featuring a head that rotates to expose three facial expressions. This piece is strictly limited to 1,000 pieces and $45.
From 6:00-8:00 on Tuesday, December 23, Choe will be on hand to sign Choegal figures, as well as the brand new issue of Giant Robot. In addition to writing his regular column, he provided cover art and design elements found throughout the magazine.

Notable participating artists have included Augor, Bask, Blek Le Rat, Boxi, David Choe, Crome, Cycle, Michael De
Feo, Dare, Depoe, Dolla, Ellis G, El Mac, Ewok, Frerk, Logan Hicks, Andy Howell, Kofie, Lady Pink, The London
Police, MSG, Kenton Parker, Retna, Revok, Reyes, Risk, Santiago Rubino, She Kills He, Chris Stain, TCP, Tes One,
Typoe, WK Interact, Marc C. Woehr and Agustina Woodgate. Primary Flight is a launch pad for some Street Artists,
and a homecoming for others, such as Shepherd Fairey and Ron English, both of whom transitioned from Street Art
to the Fine Art arena.

In 2008, Juxtapoz Magazine and Upper Playground asked David Choe, Alex Pardee, Saber & Retna to paint their way across the United States. Traveling the country from Washington D.C. to the Bay Area with spray cans in their hands and cameras following, they bombed, brushed, and painted, leaving a swath of color and creativity in their wake. This short documentary piece, set to the music of Cutsoquick, captures the artists as they hit the streets collaborating on huge pieces and connecting with fans and admirers of their art from all walks of life.

JetSet Graffiti Productions is proud to announce the debut of our first feature length documentary at this year’s San Francisco Independent Film Festival! “Abraham Obama” is a humorous and provocative look at an unprecedented political art movement.
A campaign to change the visual landscape of America yields a new President, and ushers in a new collective consciousness for America’s people.
Famous street artist Ron English gathers a crew of professional pranksters and hits the road on a grass-roots campaign to make public art and promote Obama’s campaign for the Presidency. “Abraham Obama” takes us on an unforgettable ride as the stories of Ron English unfold alongside musicians and artists such as Shepard Fairey, Jack Medicine, David Choe, Sam Flores, The Date Farmers, Will.I.Am, Morgan Spurlock, DJ Z-Trip and several others.
Directed by Kevin Chapados, and Produced by Daniel Lahoda and Ron English.
The documentary is showing at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco on Sunday, February 15th at 12:30pm, with a second showing on Wednesday, February 18th at 7:30pm.
